What type of plants would live in the coniferous forest? Lets have a look at them...
PAPER BIRCH
Paper birch grows in varieties of biomes such as the tundra, coniferous and deciduous forest. It is also known as white birch. They have very thin barks and horizontal layers separate into sheets like paper with the color white to reddish brown. These trees may come into pairs or clusters. There of many types of paper birch trees, but they all grow pretty much the same amount, which is 60 to 80 feet high. The trunks are up to 32 inches diameter. The leaves are usually egg-shaped or ovate, though some could have triangular-shaped ones. They (the leaves) are usually grayish green to a deep green and even to a yellowish green and 8 centimeters long. The leaves will fall when the weather turns cold. The cool thing is that fruits grow on these trees during fall time.
This tree are also used in many ways. Furniture, flooring, and even popsicle sticks!

JACK PINE
Jack pines grow about 27 meters tall, but smalls ones can be short as shrubs. The barks are flat and reddish brown. The branches are quite long and as well.
This tree also adapts to flat or hilly areas that have sandy soil. Surprisingly, they do not have a special root system. It is possible for the jack pine to grow in the this biome because of its waxy pine needles and rough bark. It is good to have these characteristics because the wax and bark protects the needles. This can protect the tree from the cold wind and the weather (which is usually cold). In the coniferous forest, the brush starts forest fires and the waxy pine needles and rough bark protect the tree. The jack pine has long and slender twigs, which prevents the snow from sticking.

SIBERIAN SPRUCE
The siberian spruce is a very tall needle-leaf tree. It has slightly drooping branches, which makes it look like a pyramid. They have two twigs that are yellow and also a bit glossy. Like the jack pine, the siberian spruce has pine needles and cones, which are only about 5 to 10 centimeters long. When the cone is immature it is purple, but turns brown later on. Siberian spruce take 5.7% of the total area of the coniferous forest.
There are some ways this tree is adapted to its environment. A siberian spruce tree has needles to retain heat, shed snow, and lose less water. It is very similar like the jack pine. Also, most coniferous trees have waxy coating on their pine needles to help keep the water in.
